Green hydrogen for heavy-duty vehicles

  • Walvis Bay, Namibia
  • Commissioning scheduled for mid-2025
Walvis Bay, Namibia

State-of-the-art hydrogen production

Making green hydrogen from solar power is key to decarbonizing industries and the heavy-load mobility sector. We are more than proud to be part of a state-of-the-art hydrogen production facility in Namibia, making this innovative fuel available at a public service station and offering workshops on converting truck fleets to dual technology. The power source is a 6.5-hectare (5 MWp) solar park next to the facility, belonging to Cleanergy Solutions Namibia, a powerful partnership between Ohlthaver & List and CMB.TECH.

Comprehensive system integration of PV, BESS and hydrogen application

  • Phase 1 (2024)

We successfully commissioned the PV inverter station (incl. MV transformer and MV switchgear) and the 5.9 MW/5MWh battery storage system, which enables more independent and continuous hydrogen production.

  • Phase 2 (2025)

The commissioning of the power conversion for elctrolysis is scheduled for mid-2025. Updates will be provided soon.
